Typically ranging from 3/4-inch to 1 1/2-inch in diameter, milder pearl onions have a sharp sweetness, that intensifies once cooked and softened. The red variety are particulary beautiful pickled for garnishes cocktails, roasted alongside chicken and added to stews. Pearl onions must be peeled, before enjoying.
